If drinking in DC was a video game, Barmini would be the final level. Reservations are required, as is a $15 per person down-payment (prepare to spend around $75 total), but don’t that scare you away. This small, futuristic cocktail bar is the ultimate pre-game. Once you’re seated, bartenders make drinks in front of you using blowtorches, liquid nitrogen, and other things Bill Nye might find useful. You can order a la carte, but the cocktail flight is our move. It gets you a nice mix of drinks, and leaves the decision-making up to the pros. Sit back and watch the chemists go to work.

Little Serow’s Northern Thai tasting menu is not only one of the best deals in DC - it’s one of the best meals in DC. Just prepare for some heat.
Another Jose Andres spot with solid tapas. Head to Zaytinya for a power lunch that doesn’t feel like a power lunch.
