American Ice Co. is another U Street spot with a good patio situation and a big crowd. As long as you don’t want to have deep, intimate conversations with your crew, this is a fun spot for a big group, provided you can all get in. For food, you have a choice of barbecue, sausages, and nachos that are a close second to El Rey’s.

The Bullpen at Half Street Fairgrounds
The Bullpen does music, cheap drinks, and bar food starting two hours before every Nats game. Go with a big group, and play some cornhole.

Sotto is one of the more low-key bars around 14th Street, and the live jazz and good cocktails make it a good place to end the night.
