El Garage

$$$$
Written by

El Garage is a former pop-up that recently opened a new brick-and-mortar in Richmond in the East Bay. They specialize in quesabirria tacos, and are serving three for $12 (or three for $9 if you don’t want cheese). And if you love spicy things, make sure to order your tacos with a side of pickled habanero. To limit crowds, El Garage is asking everyone to pre-order online.

Food Rundown

What you should order may seem like an obvious answer, but let’s quickly explore our options. If you’re having trouble deciding, please refer to the visual aids below.

Lani Conway
Birria Taco

This is tender, juicy beef on a crispy tortilla that’s been dipped in consomé, and topped with cilantro and onions.

Lani Conway
Quesabirria

It has everything above, plus melted mozzarella cheese that’s slightly crispy around the edges of the taco.
