Sunny & Annie’s Gourmet Deli

$$$$

Sunny and Annie’s is a bodega on Avenue B that makes an inordinate number of giant sandwiches, ranging from a great BEC, to a phở-themed sub with roast beef and hoisin sauce, and something called the Obama. We especially like the BLT wrap here, which comes with avocado, cheddar, and sprouts, and a slew of creamy Russian dressing.

There are no seats at Sunny and Annie’s (because it’s a bodega), but you can bring your food to Tompkins Square Park and have a picnic. After an experience like that, you’ll be able to confidently assure all of your first dates that you have, in fact, emotionally met Obama via sandwich.
