Mothership Meat Company is from the same people behind John Brown Smokehouse, and it has some similarly solid barbecue. We particularly like the ribs and the sausage, and the brisket is pretty decent as well. But our favorite thing about this place is the back patio. It’s huge, and once you order at a counter inside, you claim a table there and camp out for a bit. If you have some time to kill on a weekend afternoon and you don’t happen to live in Long Island City, it’s worth a trip.

John Brown Smokehouse
While we enjoyed our time with John Brown Smokehouse, we didn’t quite go crazy over the BBQ the way others have. Though if you and your crew appreciate trays full of BBQ and massive bootfuls of beer, John Brown should be on the radar.
Morgan’s BBQ is some of the best barbecue you can get without having to go down to Red Hook for Hometown.
