In a perfect world, there would be a Daily Provisions in every neighborhood. So far, the only progress that’s been made on that front is on the Upper West Side - where a new location just opened on Amsterdam. If you haven’t been to the original cafe in Union Square, know that the excitement around Daily Provisions is more than justified (and not just for the crullers). This is an all-day counter-service spot that makes specialty pastries, juicy rotisserie chickens, and simple but excellent sandwiches. The new UWS spot has more room for a sit-down meal than the original, but make sure to come early if you’re set on trying the crullers, and no matter what time of day, get a sandwich (the BEC, the BLT, and the roast beef are our favorites).

Made In New York Pizza
Made In New York is one of our favorite slice spots on the Upper West Side. Get a square slice with pepperoni, and grab a handful of napkins.
Good Enough To Eat
The Upper West Side may not be flush with noteworthy dining out options, but they certainly have one meal on lockdown – brunch. Good Enough To Eat has been an institution up in these parts for a good 30 years, and a spot we'll happily go to for simple, heavy handed home cooking.
Jin Ramen is a little Japanese restaurant on the Upper West Side where you can get a good bowl of ramen.

Like their other locations around the city, Luke’s Lobster in the Garment District is a great place for lunch or a quick lobster roll.
Do you need a big place where you can eat a pricey steak with some people who never stray too far from Grand Central? Try Benjamin Steakhouse.
Sea Wolf is a seafood place right off the L train in Bushwick that has a solid Happy Hour and raw bar.

Marlow Bistro is an Italian restaurant on the Upper West Side that feels like the setting of a first date scene from a 90s romantic comedy.
