Updated September 28th, 2021

Every day, you show up to work and either accomplish a sufficient amount or look productive enough not to get fired. And when you’ve either crossed enough tasks off your to-do list or read the entire internet, you deserve to leave the office and get a drink that doesn’t cost $20. So here’s a guide to the best Happy Hours in Manhattan. It’s divided into neighborhoods, with all the details you’ll need on days, times, and drink deals.

LOWER EAST SIDE

Barrio Chino

$$$$
$$$$ 253 Broome St

When: Tues, 10pm-Close

The Deal: $5 Frozen Drinks

Barrio Chino is a solid spot in Manhattan for Mexican food, but even if you’re not interested in eating, you should come to this constantly packed LES spot for margaritas during Happy Hour. If you change your mind about food, they offer discounted bar snacks, like chips and guacamole and fish tacos, as well.

Bonnie Vee

$$$$ 17 Stanton St

When: Wed-Fri, 5-8pm

The Deal: $5 Select Cocktails; $5 Narragansett; $2 Off All Wine

Bonnie Vee is one LES bar that doesn’t get too wild. It’s just a little neighborhood spot where you can grab a small table, drink a good cocktail, and eat a grilled cheese. If the weather is nice, check out the backyard, too.

Excuse My French

$$$$
$$$$ 96 Orchard St.

When: Tues-Thurs, 5-7pm; Sun, 2-5pm

The Deal: Two-For-One Select Cocktails

A quaint bar on the LES with an old-timey atmosphere and some very good small plates. Come here with a first date, and have some charcuterie or a goat cheese tartine.

Noah Devereaux

Black Crescent

$$$$ 76 Clinton St

When: Daily, 4-6pm

The Deal: $2 Oysters; $10 basket of F*CKING Bacon; $5 wasabi peas; $10 Select Wine and Cocktails; $5 beer; $4 “mini frozen drinky”

Black Crescent is a dark little bar on the LES that happens to serve some great oysters, cheese curds, and fish tacos. Aside from the food, it’s pretty normal here, so this is a good spot for a low-key Happy Hour.

169 Bar

$$$$ 169 E Broadway

When: Daily, 11:30am-7:30pm

The Deal: $3 Can Of Beer & Well Shot; $1 Off Can Beers & Drafts; $2 Off Everything Else

169 Bar is a classic, fun dive that’s full of colorful lights, potted plants, and a bunch of other decor that looks like it was all purchased for $1 at a yard sale. Bring a group, and prepare for a late night.

Verlaine Bar & Lounge

$$$$ 110 Rivington St

When: Tues-Sat, 5-10pm

The Deal: $8 Lychee Martinis; $8 Red or Rosé Sangria

A minimalist lounge-type place where Happy Hour goes until 10pm. The next time your finance friends complain about never making it to Happy Hour, send them here.

The Magician

$$$$ 118 Rivington St

When: Daily, 4-8pm

The Deal: $6 Well Drinks; $6 Draft Beer; $6 Wines

The Magician is a cash-only bar with a jukebox in the corner, big booths in the back, and drinks that are well-priced (even when it’s not Happy Hour). If you’re looking for a low-key place to hang out, without worrying that you’ll fall asleep in your chair, this is it.

Bar Belly

$$$$ 14 Orchard St.

When: Mon-Sat, 5-7pm

The Deal: $1 Oysters; $5 Narragnsett; $9 Select Wines; $12 Select Cocktails

A fantastic choice for a first date, made even better (i.e. cheaper) during Happy Hour. There’s live music some nights, and a better-than-average bar food menu. Start with oysters, and go from there.

SOHO & NOLITA

Epistrophy

$$$$
Italian  in  Nolita
$$$$ 200 Mott St

When: Daily, 3-6pm

The Deal: $5 Peroni; $6 Wine; $9 Cocktails

Officially one of our “Super Cute Reasonably Priced Restaurants To Catch Up With A Few Friends,” Epistrophy is also a solid choice for some relatively quiet, early-evening drinks. They also do a lot of food, like kale salad, pasta, and steak.

The Brooklyneer

$$$$ 220 W. Houston St.

When: Daily, 3-6pm

The Deal: $8 Selected Wines and Well Drinks; $12 Beer and Shot; $25 pitchers

We’re still not sure why a bar in Manhattan needs to celebrate Brooklyn, but we’re OK with it because the bar food here is great, and it’s a good go-to for any serious soccer fans.

Botanica Bar

$$$$
$$$$ 47 E Houston St

When: Daily, 4-7pm

The Deal: $2 Off Draft Beer; $6 Well Drinks & Select Wine; $8 Frozens

This is the closest thing you’ll find to a dive in Nolita. Big bonus: they let you order in takeout.

Sweet and Vicious

$$$$
$$$$ 5 Spring St

When: Sun-Thurs, 2-7pm; Friday, 2-6pm

The Deal: $2 Off Classic Margaritas; $1 Off Flavored Margaritas; $1 Off Wine; $6 Select Bottles; $7 Drafts; $7 Well Drinks

You come to Sweet & Vicious for two things: frozen margaritas (they’re especially potent here) and an outdoor patio. If you’re here in the warmer months, it’s great for big groups - but it does get crowded.

Houston Hall

$$$$ 222 W Houston St

When: All Day Mon; Tues-Thurs, 4-7pm

The Deal: $2 Sliders; $9 Select Wine; $8 Select Cocktails and Beer

Next door to The Brooklyneer, you’ll find this giant, rowdy beer hall. If you feel like going back to college, this is a good start.

NOHO & EAST VILLAGE

Jackdaw

$$$$
$$$$ 217 2nd Ave

When: Mon-Fri, 12-8pm

The Deal: $5 Select Beer; $8 Select Wine; $8 Cocktails; $10 Rosé and Sangria

Jackdaw is a casual bar in the East Village to meet someone after work when you don’t want to stand in a crowded wine or cocktail bar, and also don’t want to have to shout over a group of NYU kids playing drinking games.

Good Night Sonny

$$$$
$$$$ 134 1st Ave

When: Weekdays, 4-6pm

The Deal: $15 One Dozen Oysters; $12 Select Cocktails; $5 Select Beers; $10 Select Wine

Good Night Sonny is a cocktail bar in the East Village, but it doesn’t take itself as seriously as PDT or Death & Co. And as much as we like Death & Co., we prefer the casual atmosphere here.

Keybar

$$$$ 432 E 13th St

When: Daily, 4-7pm

The Deal: $3 off all Draft and Bottle, Wine, Signature Shots, Well Drinks and Shots

Keybar feels kind of like a tiny, divey nightclub with a great daily Happy Hour. This East Village spot isn’t the kind of place we recommend for a drink alone at the bar, but it can be fun with a group of friends - especially if it’s your birthday since they offer a free round of shots for the annual occasion.

Kindred

$$$$ 342 E 6th St

When: Daily, 5-7pm

The Deal: $5 Snaquiri; $38 Wine Bottles

A small bar in the East Village serving excellent wine and some very good small plates. If wine is a priority for you (or you’re with a wine person), come here for Happy Hour. It’s one of the nicer options in the neighborhood.

Maiden Lane

$$$$
$$$$ 162 Avenue B

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $2 Off Everything

Maiden Lane is an Alphabet City bar that’s perfect for some casual day drinking. It’s friendly, there are plenty of windows, and they do a handful of seafood small plates. We suggest coming here with a friend or two early in the night.

Holiday Cocktail Lounge

$$$$
$$$$ 75 Saint Marks Pl

When: Mon-Fri, Sun, 4-7pm

The Deal: Half-Priced Beer, Wine, Well Drinks

This is a cross between a dive bar and a cocktail lounge, and it’s the best of both worlds. It’s a good spot for a casual cocktail, but it’s also great for when you want to take some shots and be loud.

Boilermaker

$$$$
$$$$ 13 1st Ave

When: Wed-Fri, 5pm-7pm

The Deal: $12 Burger and Beer Combo; $1 Wings; $5 Brooklyn Lager; $8 Select Cocktails

This is a Happy Hour power move - The Boilermaker has a burger and beer combo, a couple of great cocktails, and affordable grilled jerk wings. So if you’re looking for a spot to get a mule or old fashioned, or maybe even eat a burger at the bar, keep this place in mind.

Drop Off Service

$$$$ 211 Avenue A

When: Daily until 7pm

The Deal: $3 And $4 Pints

A relatively nondescript spot that’s super convenient for StuyTown residents. Also, they have comfy booths, and you can somehow always find a seat.

Ten Degrees

$$$$
$$$$ 121 Saint Marks Pl

When: Daily 4-8pm

The Deal: Two-For-One Drinks

Proof that a wine and cheese bar can get kind of rowdy - especially during Happy Hour.

Bua

$$$$ 122 Saint Marks Pl

When: Weekdays 4-7pm

The Deal: $2 Off Draft Beers; $18 Wine Carafes; $10 Select Cocktails; $8 Well Drinks

Bua and Ten Degrees are not only located across from one another, but they’re also basically interchangeable. In the summer, the outdoor tables at Bua make it our first choice between the two.

The Scratcher

$$$$ 209 E 5th St

When: Weekdays, 4-7pm

The Deal: $2 Off Select Drafts; Beer and Shot Specials

The friendliest, chillest bar on this stretch of Bowery. It definitely doesn’t belong with its neighbors (The Standard, The Wren), and - if you’re looking for something a little quieter - that’s a very good thing.

d.b.a.

$$$$ 41 1st Ave

When: Weekdays, 5-8pm

The Deal: $1 off Select Drinks

A solid craft beer bar with a big back patio. It’s never too crowded, so it’s a good move for big groups, and you can bring your dog.

Royale

$$$$
$$$$ 157 Avenue C

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $3 Draft Beer; Half Off Well Drinks

Royale’s burger alone is a great reason to come here. Factor in the backyard and the Happy Hour drink prices, and you basically have no reason not to go.

The Spotted Owl

$$$$
$$$$ 211 Avenue A

When: Daily, 3-8pm

The Deal: $4 Drafts; $4 Well Drinks; $2 Off House Wine; $6 PBR And A Shot

There’s nothing terribly exciting about The Spotted Owl, but it does have some of the cheapest Happy Hour prices in the area.

Lucy Hawthorne

The Wayland

$$$$
$$$$ 700 E 9th St

When: Weekdays, 4-6pm

The Deal: $10 Cocktails; $10 Half Dozen Oysters $18 Dozen Oysters; $7 Oyster Shooters; $9-10 Glasses Of Wine; $4-5 Beer

The Wayland is an all-purpose bar: good for dates, good for casual drinks with a small group, and good for Happy Hour.

Kingston Hall

$$$$
$$$$ 149 2nd Ave

When: Mon-Fri, 4-8pm, Sat, 1-8pm

The Deal: Two-For-One Beer, Well Drinks, Prosecco

A Caribbean-themed bar with pool tables, an indoor/outdoor patio, and great fries and wings.

GREENWICH VILLAGE

The Folly

$$$$ 92 W Houston St

When: Daily, 12-8pm

The Deal: $6 Select Wine; $6 Beer; $6 Frozen Drinks

The Folly is in a nautical-themed basement on Houston, and it’s very easy to walk by without noticing it. If you do make it inside, you’ll find a fun, dark place to hang out with a date or a group when you want to drink somewhere with minimal natural light.

White Oak Tavern

$$$$ 21 Waverly Pl

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $5 Select Drafts; $5 Frozen Beers; 25% Off Select Small Plates

A useful, big bar/restaurant right next to NYU. There’s bar food and lots of space, and sports are always on the TV.

Ryan Muir

Triona's

$$$$ 237 Sullivan St

When: Mon-Fri, 1-8pm

The Deal: $4-7 Draft Beer; $4-7 Bottles; $5 Well Drinks and Wine; $14 Bud Light Pitcher

NYU grad school’s version of Cheers. But more of a dive.

WEST VILLAGE

Katana Kitten

$$$$ 531 Hudson St

When: Daily, 4-7pm

The Deal: $6 House Cocktail; $5 Sake; $5 Sapporo; $5 Hot Dog

Katana Kitten is one of the best cocktail bars in the city. Sure, the Happy Hour here doesn’t have any great deals - but the fact that this place has a Happy Hour at all is impressive, and you should use this as an excuse to stop by, drink some sake, and eat a hot dog with Japanese pickles and mustard. Bring a friend, and either hang out in the bright upstairs area or grab a table in the room downstairs with red fluorescent lighting.

L’Accolade

$$$$ 302 Bleecker Street

When: Daily, 5-7pm

The Deal: $13 Wines; $14 Cocktails

Whether or not you care that the wine you’re drinking is natural, which they all are at L’Accolade, you should keep this wine bar in mind for casual dates in the West Village.

Sotto 13

$$$$
$$$$ 140 W 13th St

When: Mon-Fri, 5-6pm

The Deal: $15 For 2 Cocktails; $15 For 2 House Wines; $10 for 2 Bottled Brews

Shocker: this boozy brunch go-to also happens to have a pretty great Happy Hour. Two glasses of wine and a pizza is ideal after-work fuel.

Greenwich Treehouse

$$$$ 46 Greenwich Ave

When: Mon-Fri, 5-8pm, Sun, 3-8pm

The Deal: $1 Off Beer; $1 Off Well Drinks; $1 Off All Beer, $5 Jello Shot, $8 Beer and Shot

One of the quirkier bars around (Star Wars paraphernalia abounds), this place feels much more like something you’d find in a small college town than in the middle of Manhattan.

Lelabar

$$$$
$$$$ 422 Hudson St

When: Daily, 4-6pm

The Deal: $10 Wine Glasses; $36 bottle; $7 Beer; $30 Beer Bucket; $15 for 3 Charcuterie & Cheese; $2 Market Oysters (Wed-Sat)

A great, slightly upscale wine bar where you can get everything by the glass. It’s a small space, and the Happy Hour isn’t a secret, so come early.

WXOU Radio Bar

$$$$ 558 Hudson St

When: Mon-Fri, 3-8pm; Sat, 1-8pm; Sun, All Day

The Deal: $4-$5 Draft Beer; $4 Well Drinks; $4-$5 Wine

A straightforward, laidback spot that’s a great choice if you’re trying to avoid the busier options nearby.

Art Bar

$$$$ 52 8th Ave

When: Daily, 4-7pm

The Deal: $5 Drafts, House Wine, Well Drinks

A not-too-fancy West Village mainstay with big, round booths in the front, couches in the back, and one of the best Happy Hour deals in the area.

UNION SQUARE

The Winslow

$$$$ 243 E 14th St

When: Mon-Fri, 12-7pm

The Deal: $6 Draft Beer; $7 Select Wine; $8 Gin And Tonic Of The Day

The Winslow might not look like much from the outside (especially if you’re judging it by its IHOP and 7-Eleven neighbors), but it’s actually a nice place to sit and have a cocktail, especially for the Union Square area.

NOMAD & FLATIRON

Emily Schindler

The Churchill

$$$$
Bar Food  in  Nomad
$$$$ 45 E 28th St

When: Mon-Fri, 12-7pm

The Deal: $6-7 Select Draft and Bottles; $8 Select Wines; Seasonal Specials

The Churchill is a very useful spot to know about if you live or work in the Nomad area, where good bars are hard to find. This a great spot to drink with a group of coworkers when you don’t need anything fancy, and, as an added bonus, they play recordings of Winston Churchill in the bathrooms.

Tavern29

$$$$
$$$$ 47 E 29th St

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $7 Beer; $7 Wine Glasses; $7 Select Cocktails

Tavern29 is a two-story bar with TVs, chandeliers, and exactly one thing that sets it apart: a rooftop. It isn’t very high, so you won’t get much of a view, but there a bunch of picnic tables that are perfect for outdoor group drinking in Nomad. And if the weather isn’t great, you can grab a table inside and eat a burger.

Turnmill Bar

$$$$
Bar Food  in  Nomad
$$$$ 119 E 27th St

When: Daily, 12-7pm

The Deal: $4 Domestic Bottles; $5 Domestic Drafts; $6 Mixed Drinks, $6 Wine, Premium Draft and Bottles, $10 Any Can-And-Shot Combo

If you’re around Kips Bay or Nomad and need somewhere to drink with a group, Turnmill Bar is a good spot to know about. It’s a nice, big pub with high ceilings and plenty of large tables, and there are a few TVs for people who can’t drink without watching sports.

The Cellar at Beecher's

$$$$
$$$$ 900 Broadway

When: Daily, 4-7pm

The Deal: $7 Beer (and Peanuts); $9 Wine; $13 Cocktails and Premium Wine, $11-$13 Snacks

Underneath Beecher’s cheese shop is this useful little wine and cheese bar that’s a good option for your Wine Wednesdays in the area.

When: Mon-Fri, 3-7pm

The Deal: $5 Drafts; $5 House Mixed Drinks; $5 Domestic Bottles

Cask Bar + Kitchen

$$$$
$$$$ 167 E. 33rd St.

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $9 Cocktails; $6 Tap Beer; $7 Cider; $5 Bottled Beer; $7 Wine Glasses; $28 Wine Bottles

Cask gets pretty busy, but thanks to its giant size, it’s never overly crowded. Just know we wouldn’t recommend eating here.

Waterfront Ale House

$$$$
$$$$ 540 2nd Ave

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $2 Off Beer & Wine; $1 Off Vodka and Bourbon

Discounted beers plus free popcorn are a match made in Happy Hour heaven. On Wednesdays, bottles and glasses of wine are all half-off. This is also a great place to pregame a movie at the nearby AMC - extra points for sneaking in the aforementioned popcorn.

FIDI

Merchants River House

$$$$ Hudson River Esplanade

When: Mon-Fri, 4-6pm

The Deal: $7 Draft Beer; $8 House Wine; $9 Well Drinks; $10-12 Bar Snacks

When you don’t want to deal with the crowds at City Vineyard, Grand Banks, or Pier A, but still want to have drinks somewhere with perfect views of New Jersey (and The Statue of Liberty), head to Merchants River House.

Cedar Local

$$$$ 25 Cedar St

When: Daily, 10-2am

The Deal: $10 Cocktails

If you don’t want to want to run into half of your office on Stone Street and spend the evening talking about what you spent the day doing, then head to Cedar Local. It’s a dark, casual bar two blocks from the Stock Exchange, and it’s a good spot to have a Manhattan alone at the bar, or get low-key a drink before dinner at Crown Shy.

CHELSEA

Seamore's

$$$$
Seafood  in  Chelsea
$$$$ 161 8th Ave

When: Mon-Fri, 3-6pm

The Deal: $1.50 Oysters (order by the half dozen); $4 Select Beer; $6 Select Wines; $8 Select Mixed Drinks

This location of Seamore’s - a seafood spot with six locations around the city - is located on 8th Avenue in Chelsea. Either grab a drink and some oysters at the bar inside or bring it to a communal table out on the sidewalk.

Cooper's Craft & Kitchen

$$$$
Bar Food  in  Chelsea
$$$$ 169 8th Ave

When: Mon-Fri, 11-7pm

The Deal: $10 Featured Cocktail; $5 Select Beer; $8 Well Drinks; $8 Select Wine

There’s a Cooper’s Craft & Kitchen in the East Village, but we prefer the location in Chelsea. It’s smaller, and it feels less like a sports bar for undergrads and more like a little cabin where you can get a good beer.

Porchlight

$$$$
$$$$ 271 11th Ave.

When: Mon-Fri, 3-7pm

The Deal: $11 Select Cocktails; $5 Flask of Punch; $6 Select Beers

A go-to when you need a fun, unpretentious environment for a big group. The cocktails are great, as is the food.

MIDTOWN

Juniper

$$$$ 237 W 35th St

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $6 Truly; $7 Select Beer; $7 Select Wine; $10 Frozen Drinks

District Social

$$$$ 252 W 37th St

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $9 Select Cocktails; $8 House Wine; $7 Well Drinks; $6 Draft Beer

If you work in or around the Garment District and you need a big place to drink with some coworkers that isn’t a dive or sports bar, go to District Social. It has a big bar, a back dining room, and a mezzanine with a bunch of tables.

Printers Alley

$$$$ 215 W 40th St

When: Mon-Sat, 11:30am-7pm; Sun 12pm-7pm

The Deal: $5 Select Drafts; $7 Wine; $8 Frozen Drinks; $8 Spicy Margarita

A big Nashville-themed bar on West 40th Street, Printer’s Alley is where you go to get some relatively affordable drinks with a big group and maybe eat some popcorn chicken while you watch people do sports things on TV.

As Is NYC

$$$$
$$$$ 734 10th Ave

When: Mon-Fri, 5-6pm

The Deal: $5 All Beer

If you ever find yourself wandering around Hell’s Kitchen and you feel like drinking a beer in a place that isn’t a sports bar, go to As Is. This place has a great beer selection (as well as cocktails and natural wine), and with all the exposed brick and potted plants, it’s about 20 times nicer than every other casual bar in the area.

The Rum House

$$$$ 228 W 47th St

When: Daily, 4-6pm

The Deal: $10 Rum Punch, Daiquiris; $10 Wine; $5 Narragansett

A slightly classy spot that gets overrun with tourists and suits, but is also one of the best places to drink a good cocktail in Midtown.

Réunion Surf Bar

$$$$
$$$$ 357 W. 44th St.

When: Mon, Wed, Thurs, Fri, 5-8pm; Sun, 5-Close

The Deal: $5 Select Beers; $8 Select Cocktails; $6 Well Drinks; $4 Well Shots; $16 Bucket of Coronas; $8 Burger and Fries; $4 Hot Dog

A surfing-themed bar in the middle of Midtown makes zero sense, but then again nothing in Midtown really does. We welcome any place in the neighborhood that has decent drinks and a not-sad ambience.

The Stag's Head

$$$$
$$$$ 252 E 51st St

When: Weekdays, 11am-7pm

The Deal: $6 Well Drinks; $6 Select Drafts and Cans; $7 House Wine

UPPER EAST SIDE

The Rochard

$$$$ 1504 Lexington Ave

When: Tues-Fri, 4-7pm; Sat, 12-7pm and 10pm-12am

The Deal: $5 Select Drafts; $6 Well Drinks; $9 Wine

For a casual drink at the upper end of the Upper East Side, go to The Rochard. This place is from the same people behind The Jeffrey and Fools Gold, and like those spots, it has a great craft beer selection along with some above-average bar food. Also, you can stop by for trivia on Thursday nights.

The Deal: $5 Beer; $5 Wine; $5 Cocktail On Tap; $5 Seasonal Frozen Cocktail; $5 Disco Juice Shot; $5 Food Specials

When: Mon-Fri, 4pm-7pm; Sat-Sun 5pm-7pm

The Deal: $8 Margaritas; $8-$10 Select Cocktails; $7 Wine; $6 Mexican Beers.

The Penrose

$$$$ 1590 2nd Ave.

When: Mon-Fri, 3-6pm

The Deal: $2 Off Select Cocktails, Wines, and Spirits

The Pony Bar

$$$$ 1444 1st Avenue

When: Daily, 4:20pm-5:20pm

The Deal: $7 Draft Beers, Well Drinks, Wine

All of the craft beers. Well, not all, but somewhere around 25, on tap. And you can have them for $6 during the strangest Happy Hour timeframe on this list.

UPPER WEST SIDE

The Owl’s Tail

$$$$ 215 W 75th St

When: Tues-Thurs, 4:30pm-6:30pm

The Deal: $10 Cocktail Of The Day

The Owl’s Tail looks kind of like a very small and very nice hotel lobby that isn’t actually attached to a hotel. Bring a date or someone you need to catch up with, and grab a little table along the wall.

Amsterdam Ale House

$$$$ 340 Amsterdam Ave

When: Mon-Fri, 3-6pm

The Deal: $1 Off Well Drinks, Select Wine, Select Drafts, Select Bottled Beer

Amsterdam Ale House isn’t anything fancy. It’s just a neighborhood tavern on the Upper West Side, and if you sit at the bar from 3-6pm on weekdays, you can take advantage of its Happy Hour.

E's Bar

$$$$ 511 Amsterdam Ave

When: Weekdays, 5-7pm

The Deal: $7 Mimosa, $7 Bloody Mary, $6 E’s Lager, $6 Truly, $7 Wine, $6 Well, $9 Beer & Shot Combo; $5 Burger; $6 Falafel Burger

If you live on the Upper West Side, there’s a decent chance that E’s Bar is your favorite place for a casual drink. It’s as laidback as a dive bar, but the food is better and there are big booths and board games. Stop by for a drink after work, or come play Scattergories with your super after you call in sick.

The Mermaid Inn

$$$$
$$$$ 570 Amsterdam Ave.

When: Daily, 4:30-6:30pm

The Deal: $1.25 Oysters; $6 Draft Beers; $9 Wines; $9 Select Cocktails

Cheap oysters, cheap drinks. The Mermaid Inn is a neighborhood seafood restaurant (with other locations downtown), and we especially like it for oyster Happy Hour.

The Dead Poet

$$$$ 450 Amsterdam Ave

When: Mon-Thurs, 2-7pm; Fri, 1-7pm

The Deal: $1 Off Beer, Wine, and Spirits

It may be as narrow as an NYC apartment, but The Dead Poet has a lot to offer - mainly good cocktails, endearing literary references, and free popcorn.

HARLEM

Corner Social

$$$$
Bar FoodBar  in  Harlem
$$$$ 321 Malcolm X Blvd

When: Mon-Fri, 4-8pm

The Deal: $8 Select Cocktails, $5 Select Beer, $6 Wine

If you’re looking for a crowd, Corner Social is usually a pretty safe bet. It’s a spot at 126th and Malcolm X that sort of feels like an upscale log cabin on the inside, and it’s about equal parts restaurant and bar. You can sit at a table and eat steak and kale salad, or you can just hang out at the bar, have a relatively cheap Happy Hour drink and watch sports commentators shout at each other on TV.

Harlem Tavern

$$$$
$$$$ 2153 Frederick Douglass Blvd

When: Mon-Fri, 4-7pm

The Deal: $8 Select Red and White Wine; $9 Sangria; $7 House Mixed Drinks; $ Select Draft Beer; $10 Cocktail Of The Day

Perfect if you need a place for a big group. Harlem Tavern is a huge space with a massive front patio, plus a long bar food menu.

The Lexington Social

$$$$ 1634 Lexington Ave

The Deal: $8 Classic Margarita; $9 Flavored Margarita; $10 Cocktail Of The Day; $8 Daily Wine; $5 Select Beer; $8 Red & Rosé Sangria; $8 Well Drinks

For an after-work meetup with anyone who enjoys good wine, food, and margaritas, Lexington Social’s Happy Hour is an excellent choice.

The Honeywell

$$$$
Bar Food  in  Harlem
$$$$ 3604 Broadway

When: Daily, 4-6pm

The Deal: $11 Classic Cocktails, $1 Deviled Eggs
