Friends Of The Infatuation

Friends of The Infatuation is a membership club without the fancy handshakes. A nationwide, digital-first program that gets you closer to The Infatuation team, connects you to insider content, events, personalized service, and provides exposure to new brands and experiences. Think of it as the formalization of a group under a common banner, or in this case, a ham horn logo.

Membership comes with:

  • Service: Personalized eating and drinking recommendations via text and email
  • Content: Special editorial content (think: travel guides) you won’t find anywhere else on The Infatuation
  • Events: Members-only experiences, like virtual cooking classes, food photography workshop, and (eventually) invites to IRL events
  • Perks: Discount codes, promos, and offers from brands we love, restaurants, and other membership groups
  • Plus, a few surprises along the way.

Need to know where you can find the best khao soi in your city? Not sure what to make with the fancy rum someone sent you? We’re here to help. Email us with your restaurant questions and Infatuation staff will help you find the perfect place to eat, or text our Happy Hour Hotline and our team of bartenders and sommeliers can figure out something for you to drink too.

Through the Friends email send us requests such as:

  • “Where should my ex and I meet for a second first date?”
  • “What should I order-in for my birthday, to still make it feel like I’m celebrating turning 30?”
  • “Which spots have the best dumplings in Chinatown?”

Via the Happy Hour Hotline hit our team with questions like:

  • “How do I know when to shake or stir a cocktail?”
  • “What’s a nice bottle of wine that I can gift to my boss to impress, but not spend my entire week’s paycheck?”
  • “I have tequila, a lemon, honey, and some fennel. What drink can I make?”
  • “Do you know any beers local to Colorado?”

Not to brag, but we throw a pretty great party. Whether that’s in real life or on a computer screen, we bring together some of the best food, drinks, talent, and spaces virtually and across the country. Your FOTI membership newsletter will include info with promo codes and giveaways from some of our favorite brands. Plus, we have reciprocal benefits with organizations, like museums and other membership groups. We’ll highlight promotions that rotate monthly on upcoming experiences, limited offers, surprise swag from The Infatuation, and more.

Restaurant Perks

We’ve partnered with some of our favorite restaurants in New York City and Los Angeles to bring exclusive dining perks to members, like free wine or bubbly, special access to reservations, or complimentary appetizers. This is the first iteration of the program and lasts until August, 31, 2021 - once you join you'll receive a digital member card and code word with all the details to redeem.

Friends of The Infatuation gives you the opportunity to get more from The Infatuation - more access, more experiences, more recommendations, and more chances to spend time with us, virtually or in real life.

Since the day we launched The Infatuation in 2009, there’s been one critical element behind every decision we’ve ever made: you. Join us to come along for the journey, and support The Infatuation. Trust us, it’s going to be worth it.

Does this membership renew automatically?

Yes, memberships will automatically renew annually. An email will be sent to notify you before your renewal date, and you’re always free to cancel in advance. See above for details on pricing and what’s included, and feel free to drop us a line at friends@theinfatuation.com with questions.

Do the benefits stay the same all year?

You’ll have access to the same general benefits - events, perks, content, service - all year, although specific offers may change. We’ll keep members updated as things evolve, and will ensure that we continue to deliver value to our members.

What does a digital-first program mean?

Most of the Friends of The Infatuation benefits are available digitally and across the United States, with some offers and experiences that are based in specific locations. We’d be more than happy to have anyone join as a member, but please keep in mind that some of our offerings (events and some perks) are geared towards cities where the Infatuation has a full-time editorial presence including Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Austin, Boston, Miami, Seattle, and Philadelphia.

Can I use Friends of The Infatuation benefits in my city only?

When you sign up, we’ll be asking you what your location preference is, but no matter what city you’re in, you can take advantage of whatever Friends of The Infatuation has going on.

Can I bring a guest to Infatuation parties and members-only events?

If you’re joining a virtual event and have other people in the room, we’re cool with that. Anyone else, send them to this page so they can become a member too, or gift them a FOTI membership. Once we get back to in-person events, there may be parties throughout the year where you can bring a plus one - while member events will be reserved for Friends of The Infatuation only.

What happened to Text Rex?

Text Rex had been running as a free pilot for the last few years, but in order for it to best serve its users, the recommendation service became an exclusive offering for Friends of The Infatuation. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, cities around the world limited access to restaurants and bars, so we suspended Text Rex, the SMS-messaging restaurant recommendation service. We’re still available for any restaurant-related questions from members via friends@theinfatuation.com, and will give you up-to-date recommendations on where to eat, whether you’re eating out or sticking to delivery and takeout.


Due to COVID-19, EEEEEATSCON in New York and Los Angeles has been post-postponed, indefinitely. If you’re a member and were on a higher-priced plan that included a VIP ticket to EEEEEATSCON last year then you’ll be renewed at our base membership for the coming year.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

You’ll receive a welcome email upon joining where you can manage your membership account, or you can always email friends@theinfatuation.com. You can feel free to cancel at any time but, unfortunately, we cannot offer refunds for a partial year.
